Building Solo: Your Journey Begins
Helping you build your dream project
Solo Builders Club
A newsletter to help you build your dream projects ✨

There’s a lot to juggle, but you got this
Hey — It’s Chase & Jerrell.
Welcome to the first edition of Solo Builders Club.
We started this community for one reason: to help other solo builders create successful projects and businesses.
See, we’ve both spent many years trying to get projects off the ground. Chase ran a successful dev agency. Jerrell started a VC-funded company. But before all of that we spent most of the time just flailing and aimless.
Taking stabs at project after project. Years of false starts.
And when we found each other (in the “friendly” comment section of a reddit thread), it was about a topic near and dear to us: a struggling solo builder looking for help.
What to do for design? Best tools for SEO? Are there any AI tools for building x,y,z?
We knew that struggle. We’ve felt that pain. And we knew we could help.
We joined forces Avenger style and decided to build a community to help folks like ourselves. A community for solo builders who want to learn and grow and succeed with other solo builders. A community we wish we’d had at the beginning of our journey
So here’s what you can expect from us every Monday:
3 Quick Wins: Short, actionable tips or strategies solo builders can implement immediately
2 Resource Spotlight: Curated tools or platforms that can help streamline solo building
1 Inspiring Story: A brief success story or lesson learned from a solo builder
Along with that, we’ve started the Building Solo community. If you’re interested in joining, click here.
And we always want to make sure we’re providing you with value, so below are some resources we recommended.
Two Resources + a Bonus

We know there are lot of new solo builders thinking about how to grow their audience (I mean, we are too!). Youtube has become the dominant way to build, grow, and monetize an audience. And tools like Spotter Studio make it easy for first time video content creators to go from idea to publishing a video.
(P.S. Check out Chase’s Youtube page for inspo)
2/ Contra

I know this is a community for solos, but one of the main principles that our community believes in is support. We can’t do everything on our own. Platforms like Contra make it easy to find help for common solo builder problems. Like finding a Canva expert or even putting together a newsletter in Beehiv(wish we would of hired an expert for that 🤦🏽♂️). It’s cost effective for most builders and all experts on the platform are verified.
3/ People to Notion (Bonus!)

Capturing records about the people you meet or want to contact can be timely. Especially if you’re just copying and pasting into a spreadsheet or Notion. This Chrome extension makes that 3x easier. Just install it and you can easily click a button on a Linkedin or Twitter page that will copy all relevant info about that person into a specified Notion page. We just gave you hours of time back, Thank us later.
And that’s it for issue #1. Thanks for reading.
If you enjoyed it please do forward onto a pal. It takes ten seconds and makes a big difference. If you don't you can unsubscribe here.
See you next Monday — Chase & Jerrell
P.S. —Thank you to my Red Bull and this playlist for helping us put this together.
